The AIIA QLD Council is pleased to invite you to attend our successful Sundowner@Qld event this October, with special guest speaker Nina Du Thaler, Group Executive, Digital and Transactional Services, UnitingCare.

Open to AIIA members and non-members, these intimate monthly events provide the perfect foundation for networking with industry leaders whilst gaining priceless real-world insight from our guest speakers. Chatham House rules apply so you won’t get this opportunity anywhere else.

The evening will include drinks, refreshments and an opportunity to connect with other AIIA members and industry colleagues.

Speaker

Nina Du Thaler

Group Executive, Digital and Transactional Services, UnitingCare

Nina manages UnitingCare’s information, technology environment and transactional services. Over the last 18 months she has played a critical role in establishing and delivering against the strategic roadmap to transform the Digital and Technology team to support the growth aspirations for the business. Her vision is to lay the foundations to create a customer-centric and agile business.

She has held several senior management roles within Queensland Urban Utilities, Allconnex Water, Gold Coast City Council, Queensland Department of Emergency Services, Queensland University of Technology and the Queensland Police Service. Nina is a non-executive director on Industry Advisory Board for the School of Information and Communication Technology at Griffith University. This year, Nina and her team were named finalists in the Healthcare category of the ITNews Benchmark awards.

In 2016 Nina won ‘CIO of the Year Utilities and Media’ at the ITNews Benchmark Awards. Nina led her team to develop Q-Hubs – a real-time, holistic visualisation of all the water authority’s expansive operations. This solution has also been internationally recognised with a Special Achievement in the Geographic Information System Awards from the President of Environmental Systems Research Institute in the same year.

Nina has a Master of Business Administration from QUT and a Bachelor of Informatics from Griffith University. She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

She is passionate about teaching children about cyber safety and mentoring young professionals to reach their full potential. During her downtime Nina has written and published three children’s books as well as being invited to regularly speak at industry forums.
