Building Productive Industry – University Collaboration Consultation

Thursday, 21 April 2016

THE WOMEN’S COLLEGE, THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY 15 CARILLON AVENUE, NEWTOWN, SYDNEY NSW 2042

Details

The forum, jointly hosted by the Office of the Chief Scientists and AIIA will aim to:

  • Develop a shared understanding of what it means for a graduate to be industry-prepared.

  • Provide universities with a better insight into the types of graduates that companies are seeking to employ, and the abilities and expertise that they currently require and anticipate requiring in the near future.
  • Improve awareness by industry of the way universities develop ICT curricula, and understanding of how they can get involved.
  • Develop a national framework that makes it easy for industry to work with universities:
    a. to achieve industry-prepared graduates; and,
    b. for building fruitful industry-university collaboration in ICT and related fields.
  • Create a community to have a focussed and meaningful conversation—understanding each other’s drivers and how they can help one another.

RSVP to Suzanne Roche as soon as possible.
