The Hon. Kate Jones MP Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development
Kate Jones is the Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development and the Commonwealth Games in the Queensland Government.
She is committed to driving innovation in Queensland, attracting new investment and encouraging businesses to start up and grow in our state.
Kate served as Minister for Education during the first term of the Palaszczuk Government.
She also served as Minister for Environment and Natural Resources in the Bligh Government.
Kate was elected to the seat of Ashgrove in 2015, having previously held the seat between 2006 and 2012.
Kate worked as an advisor in the Beattie Government before entering parliament.
She attended Kelvin Grove State High School and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Journalism at the Queensland University of Technology and a Masters in Environmental Law at Australian National University.
Kate lives in Ashgrove with her husband, Paul, and their two children.
Bevan Slattery CEO, Superloop
Bevan Slattery is recognised as one of Australia’s leading technology entrepreneurs having founded some of Australia’s most successful technology companies including PIPE Networks, NEXTDC, Asia Pacific Data Centre Trust, Megaport, SubPartners and Superloop.
Bevan’s entrepreneurial success is highlighted in having listed a record five (5) companies on the Australian Stock Exchange with a total market capitalisation of over $5B and received many industry awards including EY Champion of Entrepreneurs Award in 2016, National Charles Todd Medal, and the Pearcy Foundations Benson Award as well as recently inducted into the Commsday Australian Internet Hall Of Fame.
Bradley Hennessey
Bradley Hennessey is a local Brisbane game developer studying at QUT.
In 2017 he won the national iAwards for the senior student category with his product ‘An Aspie Life’.
He then completed the game and released it on the 30th of March 2018 on steam.
An Aspie Life uses the elements of game design to put you in the shoes of an autistic character.
