In Search of the Holy Grail – The Journey so far
Electronic Medications Management (EMM) is often seen as the holy grail of IT solutions for hospitals. The benefits for patient safety are extremely attractive to clinicians, and hospital management see the potential for standardisation and cost control.
In NSW, St Vincent’s has been on the EMM implementation journey for a number of years and many lessons have been learned. In the public system, NSW Health is just starting on its own very large multi-year program to implement EMM across its major hospitals around the state.
Come and hear speakers from these two organisations bring us up-to-date on these exciting projects.
We’re also delighted to have Prof. Johanna Westbrook attending from UNSW, who will bring us up-to-date on what benefits and challenges have been demonstrated from similar projects locally and internationally.
Our speaker line-up:
- Prof. Johanna Westbrook, University of NSW
- Dr. Robin Mann, Program Director, NSW Health
- Kate Richardson, Pharmacist, St Vincent’s Hospital
Each speaker will deliver a short presentation, followed by a panel session with plenty of time for Q&A.)
