The Justice cluster comprises 12 interdependent and interlocking government agencies that deliver legal, law enforcement and emergency services. With a FY1718 budget allocation of $10.3B ($8.3B in recurrent expenses and $2B in capital expenses), of which $51M has been assigned for the four year $100 million Policing for Tomorrow Technology Fund to provide the NSW Police Force with state-of-the-art technology to fight crime and enhance officer mobility. The AIIA NSW Government SIG is delighted to wrap up this year’s breakfast briefings with Aaron Liu, CIO, NSW Department of Justice presenting the department’s ICT priorities for the future. He will be joined by Rob Hilditch, Chief Information Officer, Fire and Rescue NSW and Ben Shaw, General Manager Policing Systems, NSW Police Force for a Q&A session after the keynote session.

Aaron Liu is the Chief Information Officer, Department of Justice. He has been in the role since 2015 and has held senior roles in government, legal and criminal justice sectors both in NSW and the UK. Aaron came into the technology sphere later in his career and has brought a business focus to the role of CIO.

Rob Hilditch joined Fire & Rescue NSW (FRNSW) in December 2015 and was permanently appointed to the position of Executive Director Information Technology, CIO in July 2016. He has more than 25 years’ experience managing and delivering information, communications and technology solutions to large businesses. Solutions delivered include major technology-enabled transformation and change programs, implementing Enterprise Resource Planning capabilities and the creation of a Finance Shared Service Centre.
Prior appointments include Interim CIO IT Services Uniting Care NWSACT, CIO Goodman Fielder, CIO Wesfarmers Industrial & Safety, Head of Information Technology AWB Ltd and CIO Wesfarmers Landmark.
