The Federal and ACT Council of the AIIA are delighted to have Stein Helgeby, Deputy Secretary for Governance and APS Transformation in the Department of Finance as special guest speaker at our December Canberra Managers’ Forum luncheon.
The Australian Public Service continues to implement its Smaller Government Reform agenda through various initiatives that challenges the way the public sector undertakes its traditional policy and service delivery roles.
Stein will be discussing the Shared and Common Services Program, which aims to consolidate the provision of corporate and common services to ensure these services are sourced in the most efficient and effective way.
The program is approaching its second year of operation and Stein will be taking the audience through the journey to date and what the future might look like.

Stein is the Deputy Secretary for Governance and APS Transformation in the Department of Finance. His team develops policy and advises on the resource management and governance frameworks for public sector agencies. It also provides policy and program leadership on initiatives aimed at transforming and modernising the public sector, including shared and common services for back-office functions and grants administration.
