Join us for an insightful event bringing together leaders in AI from both the public and private sectors to explore the opportunities of AI adoption while navigating emerging regulatory frameworks focused on transparency, governance, and compliance.

Our keynote speaker, Marco Fahmi from the Queensland Government’s Customer and Digital Group, will present the latest policy on AI Adoption in Queensland and outline the new capabilities being made available to its citizens.

The event will also feature a panel of experts discussing AI integration in the Queensland Public Sector.

David Preston, from the Department of Education Queensland, will provide insights into the ongoing state-wide trial of QChat, an innovative AI initiative designed to enhance educational services.

Dr. Kelvin Ross, Chair of the Queensland AI Hub and KJR, will offer his expert perspectives on the challenges and opportunities surrounding AI adoption in Queensland.

Marco Fahmi is the director of the Artificial Intelligence Unit within the Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group.

The AI Unit is responsible for delivering cutting edge technology solutions for Queensland Government that enable greater access to Artificial Intelligence such as the conversational chatbot QChat and to improve government services through its AI Platform.

The Unit leads community-driven initiatives such as the development of policies for the safe and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in government, encourages the adoption of national and industry standards for AI and supports the next generation of AI professionals through education and professional development programs.

Dr Kelvin Ross is an entrepreneur, technologist and researcher. He is the founder and Chairman of KJR, CTO of Datarwe, Director of the Queensland AI Hub, AIkademi and IntelliHQ, developing the ecosystem for AI innovation in healthcare. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Institute for Intelligent and Integrated Systems, Griffith University. He has held several roles in national technical working groups (NATA , ACS).

He has over 30 years of experience in software engineering and enterprise IT applications. He is a firm believer of AI’s added value to the Community, Healthcare and Cultural sectors.
