iAwards Presentation Ceremony and Gala Dinner 29th August

The presentation of this year’s iAwards to the winners and merit recipients will be held from 5-6:30pm on Friday 29th August. The event includes the Development, Industry, Service, Society and Student domains, and the Start-Up and Hills Young Innovator category winners.

Following the presentations, the iAwards winners, judges, VIPs, sponsors and media will celebrate at the Winners Reception, while guests enjoy pre-dinner drinks before the Gala Dinner.

The Gala celebration dinner provides the grand finale for the event, and will and will be held from 7:30pm on Friday 29th August. The evening will provide great food, entertainment and the presentations of the Pioneer and Professional iAwards and the Hills Young Innovator.

Venue: The Melbourne Room, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre

Time: Ceremony starts from 5pm, Gala Dinner from 7.30pm

Australia 3.0 28-29th August

ICT experts and thought leaders from four key industries (Government, Mining, Health and Industry) will collaborate on hot topics with a view to catalyse ideas into collaborative action. These discussions are held via Yammer conversations before the event, with final workshops and plenary sessions held at the iAwards event. More information

This year, NICTA will run a Hackathon event as part of the Infrastructure stream within Australia 3.0. The Hackathon will focus on infrastructure and transport, traffic and congestion problems, using datasets from the Victorian government and commercial players. More information

MasterClass 29th August

The iAwards MasterClass is a series of expert presentations and workshops by successful entrepreneurs and business leaders to assist iAwards nominees to manage, commercialise and market their ideas. The MasterClass will be hosted by David Bartlett, former TAS Premier. More information

VIP lunch 29th August

The VIP lunch will be held on Friday 29th August for attendees at all iAwards streams, judges, sponsors, invited guests and VIPs. The lunch will be hosted by Kathy Coultas from the Vic Department of Business and Innovation, and will include the annual Pearcey Oration.

NICTA Tech Showcase 28-29th August

NICTA’s TECH Showcase is a must-see event where you can view the latest research and ICT demonstrations, meet NICTA’s university partners, thought-leaders, researchers, PhD students and technology experts and see how they are solving critical issues for Australia’s future. Topics include Infrastructure, Transport and Logistics; Broadband and the Digital Economy; Security and Environment.

The Showcase will be open to iAwards attendees on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th morning, a schools visit from 10am-2pm on Thursday and open to the public from 2pm Friday.

Innovation Showcase 28-29th August

The innovation Showcase will showcase the nominees and winners of all the State iAwards, with information about their innovations and stories.
