The AIIA introduces a new program of events to its Online Briefing Series introducing the industry’s young professionals. This is an opportunity to hear from some of the industry’s up and coming professionals and how they are making a difference. In the first of these programs in the series, we introduce:

Bianca Picket

CTO , Intuit Technologies

Our big-picture-thinking whirlwind of a CTO joined Intuit Technologies with depth & experience in technology, business strategy, human resources, finance, leadership, and management. Bianca has worked with start-ups through to multinationals and has been instrumental in growing businesses while setting them up for successful sale or acquisition. With a strong focus on people and culture, Bianca believes in building a sustainable and scalable business which engages both its employees and customers in their journey through the IT landscape. Give her a whiteboard marker and watch her solve world peace.

Katherine Boiciuc

Director , Maximus International

Katherine Boiciuc is a Director at Maximus International and is recognised as one of Australia’s 29 Inspirational Women making waves in STEM. She is a global leader with extensive experience in the technology and telco industries. Katherine has held senior and influential roles focused on global impact and world technology enablement. Katherine joined Maximus after 19 years at Telstra where her team, across 20 countries, delivered services such as risk and compliance, strategic execution, CX strategy and NPS measurement, and digital enablement including deployment of Tableau, Salesforce and Einstein. She has a rich catalogue of blogs and articles on mentoring advice to women in digital, data, STEM and tech leadership roles.

Katherine has been an advocate and global keynote speaker on diversity in technology, women in Tech and women in Data for over a decade. Katherine is an accredited Futurist and is featured in Futurist World on the topic of the Future of Leadership.

Katherine’s approach focuses on supporting leaders to adapt and grow through embracing disruption, experimentation with new technology and ensuring new ways of leading are embedded in daily practice. She enjoys enabling leaders and their teams to be future ready and thrive amongst the ever-increasing complexity of change that leaders face.

Katherine’s portfolio of clients at Maximus, includes working with AGL, CyberCX, Transport for NSW, ASIC and Bureau of Health.

Ron Gauci

CEO, AIIA

Ron is a leader of the ICT industry with significant experience in senior leadership and executive roles in ASX & NYSE listed, global multinational organisations such as Microsoft, Telstra, Siebel, Verizon Business and IBM. Ron is widely recognised as a transformation specialist, having delivered success despite significant challenges and adversity. Ron is also a former Victorian Chairman of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) and a former national Director of the AIIA as well. Most notably, Ron has also held significant roles outside the industry, including Interim positions as CEO at Fed Square, Melbourne Storm, and Melbourne Polytechnic (Formerly NMIT). As CEO & MD of the Melbourne Storm, Ron navigated the club to success post the Salary Cap scandal that rocked the sporting world. Despite not having any direct experience in rugby league, he oversaw the restoration of the Storm to what was at that time its most successful level since its inception in 1998 and the club is now an NRL powerhouse. Ron also built and implemented a recovery strategy for the financially challenged Melbourne Polytechnic. Today the institute is recognised as one of the leaders in dual sector education in Australia. Ron has also held senior positions in some of the largest multinational and domestic technology organisations. Ron is a Graduate of the AICD and has extensive Board experience across a variety of different industries. He is a former Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a former member of the International CEO Forum and held a position on the Board of Governors for the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM). Ron is married with five children and six grandchildren. He has a long history of active involvement in sport and music which includes being a member of the executive covers band Big Kahuna.
