Do you want to gain a better understanding of Adelaide’s entrepreneurial landscape and its innovators?

As our hosts, KPMG will discuss their ongoing support for the AIIA and ICT sector.

Geoff Kwitko, newly appointed director of Startup Adelaide, will update us on developments with Startup Adelaide and his perspectives on innovation in government.

Gerard Reed will present findings from research recently undertaken by the University of Adelaide’s Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation & Innovation Centre into opportunities that may exist and ways to develop the diversity of the Adelaide entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Creators of Pincam, Zhenglin Wang and Kalana Ishara (who are based at UniSA), were recent State iAward and National Merit winners in the postgraduate category. They will provide insight into what they gained from taking part in this year’s iAwards and plans for the further development of Pincam.

Biography

Geoff Kwitko, Director, Startup Adelaide

By the age of 25, Geoff had successfully sold three companies. He did this whilst completing a Bachelors in IT and a second in Business as well as a Post Graduate qualification in Entrepreneurship, ranking top GPA in his university two years running.

Now, Geoff Kwitko is an innovation strategy consultant with proven expertise in entrepreneurship and technology.

He has run strategic planning workshops for over 100 Adelaide organisations on topics such as corporate creativity, innovative thinking, futurist trends and changing consumer behaviour.

Last year Geoff personally managed over $5 million in marketing and innovation budgets on behalf of his clients.

Geoff is the director of the not-for-profit Startup Adelaide and is keen to instil the lean startup methodology into Adelaide corporates.

Gerard Reed

Gerard Reed completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of New South Wales where he studied Theatre, History, Politics, Film, and Religion. Gerard holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of the Arts, London where he further developed his interest in the history and production of independent film and documentary. Gerard also completed a Master of Entrepreneurship degree at ECIC and is co-founder of a digital and screen production company. He is currently completing his PhD, which has been submitted for assessment, at the ECIC with a particular focus on innovation and creativity in screen business.
