AIIA NSW Healthcare Special Interest Group (SIG) are pleased to confirm that Dr Zoran Bolevich, Chief Executive Officer, eHealth NSW, will give an update on the NSW eHealth strategy and key projects.

Dr Zoran Bolevich will be joined by Dr Monica Trujillo, Executive General Manager, Clinical and Consumer Engagement and Clinical Governance, and Chief Clinical Information Officer, Australian Digital Health Agency and Sabrina Walsh, CIO of Western Sydney Local Health District, for a Q&A panel session. This not to be missed session, will be moderated by the esteemed Dr Tim Smyth, Chair of Western NSW Primary Health Network.

Dr Zoran Bolevich,
Chief Executive Officer
eHealth Department NSWA trained doctor with a passion for ICT, Zoran brings to eHealth NSW broad experience in a range of senior health management and ICT leadership roles in Australia and New Zealand.Prior to joining eHealth NSW, Zoran has worked at the Ministry of Health as Executive Director for Health System Information and Performance Reporting and, most recently, as Acting Deputy Secretary for System Purchasing and Performance.

Across the Tasman, Zoran spent several years leading a regional shared services agency for District Health Boards and, after that, took up a role with New Zealand’s Ministry of Health where he was responsible for the national health information strategy and architecture.

He is a member of the eHealth Executive Council, the peak ICT committee for NSW Health, which is responsible for setting eHealth strategy, advising on eHealth policy and standards, monitoring performance and ensuring effective project delivery within a whole of NSW

Health context. Zoran is NSW Health’s representative on the National Health Information and Performance Principal Committee of the Australian Health Ministers Advisory Council and is the current Co-chair of the National Health Chief Information Officers Forum.

Since joining eHealth NSW in July, he has focused on building on current areas of strength, streamlining governance of eHealth’s key programs and activities as well as progressing the development of new eHealth strategy for NSW Health.

As well as a medical degree, Zoran holds a Masters of Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators.

Dr Tim Smyth,
Chair
Western NSW Primary Health Network
(Moderator)Dr Tim Smyth is well known in the Australian health care sector, having worked as a doctor, hospital manager and senior executive in the NSW public sector health system. He is now working as a consultant and has returned to corporate and commercial law part time as Special Counsel with Holman Webb lawyers.Tim has kept his links with the health sector through his roles of Chair of the rural and regional Western NSW Primary Health Network, Director of the urban Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network, Director of the Black Dog Institute and Independent Director, Australasian College of Health Service Management. Tim tells me that he does have his My Health Record in the national e health system, but like many, he would like to see it both useful and utilised!
Dr Monica Trujillo,
Executive General Manager, Clinical and Consumer Engagement and Clinical Governance, and Chief Clinical Information Officer
Australian Digital Health AgencyDr Monica Trujillo is responsible for leading clinical and consumer engagement ensuring consumer and clinician centred high quality and safety programs are developed across the Agency.Her role ensures the implementation of a strategic approach to consumer and clinical engagement, clinical governance, safety, system design, functionality and usability of products and services, and contributes to broader development goals by ensuring Australia has a safe and robust digital health system.

Her approach to consumer engagement and patient experience provide valuable insight to the planning, design and implementation of the Agency’s work program.

Previous to this position, Dr Trujillo was the Chief Medical Information Officer at UnitingCare Health, Australia’s first, as well as being the Regional Director of Medical Services for St Stephen’s Hervey Bay and the Sunshine Coast Private Hospital. In this role, she was well known for her leadership and passion to fully and effectively engage clinicians in the design, implementation and sustainability of digital health solutions, in order to bring about high patient quality and safety outcomes.

Prior to her tenure with UnitingCare Health, Dr Trujillo worked in the public sector as Executive Director, Medical Services for Townsville Hospital and Health Service in Queensland, Australia.

She is also the vice chairperson of the HIMSS Asia Pacific Governing Council.

Dr Trujillo obtained her degree in Medicine and Surgery, Universidad del Valle, Colombia in 1998. She holds an AMC Certificate 2000, Masters of Public Health 2005, and has been a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators since 2009.

Sabrina Walsh,
CIO
Western Sydney Local Health DistrictSabrina is CIO of Western Sydney Local Health District and is leading a major digital transformation as part of Westmead Hospital redevelopment and the $1B investment into the Westmead Precinct.Sabrina has extensive experience in senior executive roles in public sector health services, including CIO for Queensland Health and several chief executive roles for hospitals and area health services. Her management consulting experience has focused on building portfolio and program management capability, performance improvement and governance.

She has Masters degrees in Psychology and Public Administration. Her passion is to bridge the IT-Business divide in the health sector.
