Artificial intelligence and digital technologies are becoming increasingly sophisticated and ubiquitous, and their impact on our personal and working lives is only just starting. But who’s leading the advances and why? What are the benefits of these technological advances to future humans? Should humans be concerned about their role on this planet in the future?Anthropologist and researcher, Genevieve Bell, joins us as our keynote at 12:30pm to explore the answers to these questions.

Genevieve Bell
Professor, College of Engineering and Computer Science
Australian National University
Genevieve Bell is a Professor in the Australian National University (ANU) College of Engineering and Computer Science.
Genevieve is recognised as a world leader in the ethnographic approach to developing technology. After completing a PhD in cultural anthropology at Stanford University, she joined Intel in 1998 and went on to lead the company’s first user experience research and development lab. In 2009, she was Adelaide’s Thinker In Residence and authored the report “Getting Connected, Staying Connected: Exploring South Australia’s Digital Futures”.
Her work has been recognised by Fast Company magazine as one of the 100 most innovative people in business.
