Navigating Analytics: A public sector managerial innovation

‘Complex societal, economic, political and environmental pressures are placing intense demands on public sector organisations to make smarter decisions, deliver results and demonstrate accountability.’ – IBM Institute for Business Value.

With increasing pressure to drive productivity and improve fiscal management, State and Federal Government and business alike depend on accurate evidence based, and as near to real time as possible, information.

In the current fast paced global digital economy, access to information is not enough, and access to ‘static’ information not good enough.

Notwithstanding the exponential increase in data and information availability, the modern day challenge for all organisations is extracting meaning, to build knowledge and inform decisions to shape outcomes.

The AIIA Navigating Analytics Summit is the third in a series of one day events hosted by the Australian Information Industry Association designed to facilitate debate and discussion of key issues facing the ICT industry. The Summit will be held at the National Convention Centre, Canberra on Thursday, 20 March 2014 and will be followed by an industry dinner at the Boat House by the Lake.
