Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs are fast becoming integral to business practice. As the technologies develop, their implications for work need to be understood by senior executives to ensure that the opportunities presented are harnessed and the risks and threats are managed.

The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) is the industry body for the technology industry and assists executives and society in general on technology matters.

Two of AIIA’s members active in the field, KPMG and Microsoft, are working with the AIIA in WA to provide guidance on these issues. The AIIA is partnering with the State Government’s Office of Digital Government and WA Local Government Association to present a seminar on the issues involved.

Tickets are limited, so be quick to secure yours!

The seminar is targeted at senior executives in state agencies and local governments who need to be aware of the implications of the technologies and the risks and benefits. Our speakers will cover the following topics:

The Evolution of AI and Future Trends – High level considerations and principles of responsible AI, the evolution of modern GenAI capabilities and future trends

Local and Global AI Policies and Regulations – WA AI policy and AI assurance framework, national guardrails, global AI regulation and ODG’s perspective of AI in the public sector

Risk, Security, and Governance of AI and Cross-Sector Industry Perspective – Risk and privacy, monitoring and controlling of AI in agencies, threats and data protection and how AI is being applied in the private sector.

You will have the opportunity to engage during the Q&A session with additional members representing the state public sector.

You will walk away having gained a greater understanding of how technology can be applied in government context and its impact on productivity, some of the risks and threats needing to be addressed, and where government is currently placed in developing controls for its use.

The AIIA is excited to provide this opportunity for senior executives to be brought up to date on AI and its use in government in WA – it is an event not to be missed.
