Ashling James is the Director, Digital Economy & Innovation Policy in the Victorian Department of Jobs, Skills Industry & Regions. In this role, she leads the team to support the growth of the innovation and digital ecosystem in Victoria – to build capability, improve productivity and increase global competitiveness.  Over a decade in the public service, Ashling has worked to build a strong, vibrant and internationally connected Victorian economy, with roles in trade facilitation, small business support, regulatory reform and industry development. 

Rocky Scopelliti

Futurologist

Rocky Scopelliti is a world-renowned futurologist whose purpose is to ‘create confidence in our future.’ His pioneering behavioural economics research on the confluence of demographic change associated with Millennials, and digital technology, have influenced the way we think about our social, cultural, economic, and technological future.

His new Australian-first book just released Australia 2030! Where the bloody hell are we? is a fascinating window into Australian professionals’ sentiment about the decade ahead, based on a major study conducted before and during the eye of the COVID-19 storm.

His other book ‘Youthquake 4.0 – A Whole Generation and The New Industrial Revolution’ has now being translated into Vietnamese, Korean, Indonesian, and Chinese languages.

As a media commentator, his unique insights have featured on SKY Business News, The Australian Financial Review, ABC Radio National, The Economist, Forbes, and Bloomberg. As an international keynote speaker, his presentations have captivated audiences across Asia Pacific, the USA and Europe including Mobile World Congress.

As a thought-leader, over 150 boards and leadership teams, including Fortune 100 corporations, each year seek his advice on strategy. In an executive capacity, he is a member of the Optus Business Leadership team as the Chief Scientist -Federal Government where he creates world-class thought-leadership on the 4th Industrial Revolution.

In a non-executive capacity, he is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology Business School, a director on the board of Community First Credit Union, on the advisory board for REST Super and Wake by Reach and former board member of the Australian Payments Council. Educated in Australia and trained in the USA at Sydney and Stanford Universities respectively, he has a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Management and an MBA. He is also a graduate and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Siew Lee Seow

AIIA

As General Manager of Policy and Media at the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), Siew Lee Seow directs initiatives that align the tech sector with public interest and government agendas. She oversees 11 Policy Advisory Networks and Working Groups, representing companies across the entire tech ecosystem.

With 17 years of experience in policy development, regulatory affairs, and international business—spanning a decade in Australia’s digital technology sector and seven years in Singapore’s international commerce—Siew Lee has cultivated strong relationships with regulatory and industry stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

Her contributions include modernising Australia’s payments system in the Commonwealth Treasury Strategic Plan, initiating a national anti-scams code, and initiating the NSW AI Ethics Policy Framework. Siew Lee holds a Juris Doctor in Corporate and Governance Law from Macquarie University and a Master of Commerce in Finance and Business Law from the University of Sydney.

A bubbly, collaborative, passionate and curious individual focussed on digital skills advocacy, diversity and culture building to drive a thriving society. Noodles is a Motorsport Australia official organising and officiating off-road car rallies, championing young driver education through grassroots gravel motorsport and an avid porphyrophile.
