Overview

The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) is pleased for the Hon. Natalie Hutchins, Victorian Minister for Jobs and Industry, Treaty and First People and Women to provide her first digital tech sector keynote address at a sit down lunch at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. The Minister will provide an address on diversity and inclusion in the tech sector and share the survey findings from the Victorian Government’s Digital Technology Sector Survey 2023.

The Minister is responsible for Victorian Government initiatives such as the 10 million investment in establishing the Cremorne Digital Hub, with the aim of accelerating Cremorne’s tech credentials on the global stage. The Minister also has direct responsibility for the Digital Jobs Program and SummerTech LIVE, both of which are successfully addressing the supply of digital tech skills into industry.

The Hon. Natalie Hutchins MP is the Member for Sydenham, the Minister for Jobs and Industry, Treaty and First People and Women.

As Minister for Jobs and Industry she is part of the Allan Government economic team and is focused on growing our economy and increasing participation.

The Minister has always been a fierce advocate for gender equality, for workers’ rights and for justice for Aboriginal Victorians.

In her previous roles she is particularly proud to have created laws to improve conditions for vulnerable workers, create a new Financial Assistance Scheme for Victims of Crime, establish Respect Victoria, and ensure women have an equal voice in everything the government does.

She was elected to the Parliament in 2010 and has represented the seat of Sydenham since 2014. She has previously served as the Minister for Education, Local Government, Aboriginal Affairs, Industrial Relations, Prevention of Family Violence, Women, Corrections, Youth Justice, Crime Prevention and Victims Support.
