One year on from the AIIA’s Tech and Sustainability Conference, the AIIA’s latest thought leadership paper shines a light on the way innovation technology is fuelling sustainability in Australia and around the world. Tech and Sustainability takes as its basis innovative case studies of cutting-edge technology powering sustainability and reducing carbon emissions from the AIIA Member community including Salesforce, Amazon, Canon, SAP, Fujitsu, Deloitte and CDC Data Centres. This is your opportunity to hear from leaders in ecotech, climatetech, circular economy and ESG as the AIIA formally launches this seminal contribution to the national conversation about decarbonising the Australian economy and reaching net-zero.

Professor Tim Boyle

Director, Innovation and Commercialisation

ANSTO

Tim Boyle is Director, Innovation & Commercialisation and Founder of the nandin Innovation Centre, ANSTO’s centre for commercialisation, design innovation and entrepreneurship. Tim is an internationally recognised leader in research translation and IP commercialisation with over 20 years’ experience developing the interface between research and business. He has an enviable track record in technology licensing, developing industry collaborations and spinning out new ventures across a broad range of technology areas and disciplines on both domestic and international scale.

Tim leads the development and implementation of ANSTO’s strategic initiatives working collaboratively with ANSTO stakeholders, industry, community partners and government. These initiatives include ANSTO’s Innovation Precinct and development of translational research centres aligned with ANSTO research and industry needs. Tim also coordinates ANSTO’s knowledge exchange and commercialisation activities. He is outcome focussed, always seeking to understand the client needs and ensure that ANSTO delivers value to exceed their expectations.

Tim has also worked in various knowledge exchange and technology development roles within higher education, information and pharmaceutical industry and throughout his career. Tim holds appointments as an Adjunct Professor with Swinburne University of Technology and Global Expert faculty with Singularity University.

Her work sits at the intersection between business, technology, innovation, and sustainability, helping customers not only deliver on their ESG commitments but accelerate the transition to a more sustainable future with Net Zero Cloud.

Dr Jack Dan

Chief Strategy Officer

Dr Jack R Dan is a senior executive and board member with extensive experience in diverse environments, ranging from start-up companies and academia, to government, international organisations and large multinational companies, in Australia and abroad. As the Chief Strategy Officer at CDC, Jack oversees the strategy, external affairs and sustainability functions of the organisation.

With a proven track record of achievements in providing advice, influencing and executing technology and business strategies, Jack brings new perspectives to addressing the challenges of a rapidly changing business environment and ultimately delivering to the end customers.

Jack holds a number of degrees, including a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and a Master of Management, both from the Australian National University.

Jack’s interests include strategy, business and technology developments, while in the spare time continuing to nurture his life-long interest in behavioural, communication and cognitive sciences.

Cat Long

CEO and Co-Founder

Cat graduated from Oxford University with a Masters in Experimental Psychology and believes psychology and human centred design are the keys to solving the climate crisis. Prior to launching Trace, Cat spent over a decade consulting on strategic projects spanning financial services, technology and renewable energy and now commits her time and energy to helping companies reach Net Zero using Trace’s intuitive technology.

Patrick Mooney

Executive Chair, Impact Tech Ventures

Cofounder and Executive Chair of Impact Tech Ventures. ITV accelerates climate and impact tech scaleups into the APAC region, via strategy facilitation and hands-on execution support. ITV has also run the Australian Technologies Competition, with more than 350 alumni and a high calibre mentor pool.

Chair of AIIA’s ESG Advisory Network and member of NSW Cleantech Grants Committee. Cofounder of three companies, angel investor and has provided commercialisation support to more than 900 early-stage companies. Previously Director of Accelerating Commercialisation and has held a variety of Chair, Board, advisory Board and judging roles at accelerator and award programs.

Designed and delivered entrepreneurship and strategy programs in Australia and Hong Kong, speaker on climate and environmental technologies and co-author of two books on venture capital and angel investing.
