Minister Robb and his Korean counterpart, Trade Minister Yoon, concluded negotiations on the Australia-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KAFTA) in early December 2013. The Agreement was signed on 8 April 2014 during a ceremony in Seoul, South Korea. Similarly, conclusion of negotiations on the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement (JAEPA) was announced in Tokyo on 7 April 2014 by Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Prime Minister Abbott and Prime Minister Abe signed the agreement on 8 July 2014 in Canberra. Both KAFTA and JAEPA have positive implications for bi-lateral trade between Australia and Korea and Japan.

As a precursor to the Victorian State Government ICT Trade Mission to Korea and Japan in October, the AIIA Exporter Club – in association with the Export Council of Australia – is delighted to invite you to an event focussed on doing ICT business in and with Korea and Japan. This event will shed light on the implications of both KAFTA and JAEPA for ICT and services companies, as well as giving you a general understanding of the business and cultural landscapes in these important markets, and an overview of the upcoming ICT Trade Mission. Whether you’re participating in the Trade Mission, or are just interested in doing business with two of Victoria’s largest export markets, this is a must-attend event!
