Denmark is number 1 in the UN’s 2020 e-government ranking, for the second time in a row. This presentation will share information the Danish approach to e-government over the last 20 years and provide a live demonstration of key citizen and business centric solutions currently in operation.
The presentation will be provided by Jonas Petersen who hails from Denmark, and having just arrived at the end of 2019 is already beginning to make his mark in the Office of Digital Government, Western Australia. Jonas has background in public service digital strategy, transformation and innovation in Denmark – one of the world’s leading countries in digital service delivery.

Jonas Petersen hails from Denmark, and having just arrived at the end of 2019 is already beginning to make his mark in the Office of Digital Government, Western Australia. Jonas has background in public service digital strategy, transformation and innovation in Demark – one of the world’s leading countries in digital service delivery.
Jonas’ career spans extensively through Denmark in the healthcare and e-government sectors – where he worked towards the vision of making Denmark the digital hub of Europe. In striving to reach this vision, Jonas played a role in setting up Denmark’s first health data agency and most lately he has worked across government, corporations and start-ups to build digital capabilities and reap commercial benefits from data and AI. Jonas is looking forward to engaging with the Office of Digital Government’s agenda and seeking innovative ways to improve and optimise government services for Western Australian citizens.
Jonas has Master’s Degrees in Public Administration and Politics from both Denmark and Belgium and more recently an Executive MBA from IMD in Switzerland.
