The October Federal Budget is likely to become the most significant budget of the decade given the challenges the country faces with COVID-19 and the strategies the Government considers to stimulate the economy. What does it mean for you? Please join an interactive overview of the Federal Budget, including any implications for superannuation.

The expert panel of Lauren Davis and Peter Treseder from the Education team at AustralianSuper will cover any relevant budget details and other recent legislative changes to Super.

Speaker

Peter Treseder

Education Manager, AustralianSuper

Peter has over 38 years of experience in the superannuation industry, including 21 years with AustralianSuper.  For most of his “super” career, Peter has been focussed on designing and implementing engaging superannuation education programs to help members get involved with their super, to ultimately enjoy a better retirement.

Peter believes the mystery of super needs to be removed, to encourage a change of attitude. This then gives people confidence to make decisions, which will make a difference to their future.  Spending time now, engaging with your super, means less wasted time in retirement, regretting a missed opportunity.

Separate to his life in Super, Peter is a ‘cat’ person, enjoys golf on a regular basis, plays AFL Superules football, MCs conferences and enjoys running trivia night.

Lauren Davis

Manager – Education Development, AustralianSuper

Lauren is the Manager of Education Development with AustralianSuper. She creates, facilitates and is responsible for delivering quality and interactive education to ensure our members improve their knowledge and they feel empowered to have their best possible retirement outcome.

Lauren joined AustralianSuper in 2018 as an Education Manager, bringing 17 years of financial services experience to the role. Lauren has a broad understanding of the industry, having worked in both retail and industry superannuation environments. Prior to joining AustralianSuper she held a variety of roles, including; training Financial Planning students, running a financial planning business and supporting financial advisers to run and grow their own businesses.

Lauren has superannuation and financial planning qualifications and is currently studying for her MBA. Lauren is a committee member of the AustralianSuper Women’s Network and is passionate in ensuring Australians have access to financial education, aiming to improve the financial literacy for all Australians. Outside of Super, Lauren has a beloved Cavoodle, drinks far too much Coffee and loves the Carlton football club. Two of which are currently bringing her joy.
