The Federal and ACT Council of the AIIA are delighted to announce the Honourable Angus Taylor, MP; Assistant Minister for Cities and Digital Transformation as our special guest speaker for our November luncheon, to be held at the National Press Club.
The Assistant Minister will outline the government’s achievements for 2017 and plans for 2018 which will include digital investment priorities, technology focus and increased value from digital identity and data.

Angus entered politics in 2013 when he was elected as the Liberal Federal Member for Hume in NSW.
Building on his background in economics, Angus was appointed to parliamentary committees on employment, trade and investment, and public accounts. He was also chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties.
Angus was promoted to Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister with special responsibility for Cities and Digital Transformation in February 2016. He was reappointed to the frontbench after the 2016 Federal election.
Angus’ portfolios have a whole of government focus and stretch across ICT, data and digital policy; ICT procurement and investment; the next phase of digitally enabled competition policy; and efforts to improve city liveability and tackle long standing issues of traffic congestion, housing affordability and the need to create jobs closer to where people live.
