VIC Council

The AIIA in Victoria provides a strong voice of influence, a sense of community through events and enables a network for collaboration and business opportunities as well as helping Victorian-based member companies to achieve business success and growth. The AIIA has a very strong presence in Victoria through its membership which represents the depth and breadth of the diverse ICT community. Our members play a significant part in the development of the Victorian economy.

AIIA’s interests and activities in Victoria are coordinated by our Victorian Council, an elected group of representatives from AIIA member companies who work on a voluntary basis to promote the association and the digital technology industry.

Activities

With our core focus on delivering strong value back to our members, the AIIA in Victoria:

Offers access to knowledge, advice, contacts and business opportunities to members throughout Victoria.
Works with the Victorian Government to promote the development of the local tech sector as well as enhancement of government technology policies and programs.
Hosts a vibrant events program of CIO briefings, working with government workshops and marketing seminars, as well as a range of other events which provide insight into industry trends and technologies, valuable market intelligence and regular networking opportunities in support and growth of the tech sector in the State.
Pledges its commitment in promoting diversity and sustainable increase in the representation of women at events and conferences, particularly in regards to keynote speakers and panels, where we ensure women leaders are represented appropriately.
Advocates for meaningful digital career pathways for people to help contribute to the growth Victorian digital economy
Promotes local digital technology capability through our sponsorship of the State and National iAwards programs.

Current Priority Projects of the VIC Council

The projects underway for the VIC Council are underpinned by the PAN’s and in turn by the sub committees within those. Our major focus for 2020 is working with Victorian Government to deliver Click Ready solutions that will enable Victorians, the Government and Industry to rapidly return to work and as normal a life as possible. In addition, we are focussed on improving the Industry and Government interaction with the AIIA.

Build a comprehensive set of terms of reference for the Council to its stakeholders, members and PANs
Collaboration with Infrastructure Australia for data lead initiatives to drive intelligent infrastructure solutions
Capability uplift for ICT across the Victorian Government
Industry collaboration in the Construction Tech ecosystem
Closer collaboration with Victorian Government to make it easier to do business together
