We have three outstanding CDOs from three very different organisations, with three different sets of requirements. Hear how each of these speakers approaches the task, as well as their challenges, successes and views on digital transformation

Mandy Ross

Chief Information Officer 
Tatts Group

 

Mandy Ross leads a team of more than 400 technology and operations staff at Tatts Group, Australia’s largest operator of gaming, lotteries and wagering products and services. She is charged with developing the long term strategic and digital roadmaps for the company and preparing it for transformative growth. Previous positions include CTO of start-up Literary Planet and CIO of online travel organisation the Wotif Group.

 

During her nine years at the Wotif Group Mandy was responsible for the software development and technology operations, managing a team of more than 130 software development, architecture, operations and support staff across Australia and Asia. In 2015 Mandy was awarded Boss Young Executive of the Year, and CEO Magazine runner-up CIO of the Year. She was also awarded CIO of the Year at the national iAwards in 2012. Mandy has 15 years industry experience and holds an MBA from QUT and Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) from UQ.

James Peet

Chief Digital Officer
Moreton Bay Regional Council

 

James Peet is the Chief Digital Officer at Moreton Bay Regional Council (MBRC). He is responsible for helping Council make sense of digital disruption, and ensuring MBRC is well placed to embrace the digital future. Prior to becoming CDO, James managed Council’s ICT department working with a team of ICT professionals supporting and enhancing Council’s services to the community.

 

Prior to joining MBRC, James held an ICT leadership role at BVN Architecture, a leading Australian architecture firm. He has also worked for various software vendors in training and support roles. Throughout this time, he also gained a Masters degree in Business and Technology from the University of New South Wales.

 

Outside of work, James enjoys family life with his wife and three teenage children living in northern Brisbane.

Cathy Ford

Chief Digital Officer
eHealth Queensland

 

Cathy has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry supporting organisations, executives and their teams through transformation activities that delivered sustained change.

 

As a management and ICT professional Cathy works with organisations to transform their business by developing strategies to make better use of people, information, systems and technology. Cathy delivers business value by acting as a change agent for organisations seeking to optimise their business whether that be through customer engagement, service improvement, organisational productivity and efficiency strategies or technology innovation.

 

Cathy has been the Chief Digital Officer for eHealth Queensland for more than a year. In this role she is responsible for leading the state towards a fully integrated healthcare system, supporting the ICT needs of the state’s 16 Hospital and Health Services and the Department of Health.
