Andrew has been a member of the ACT Legislative Assembly since April 2006, and Chief Minister of the ACT since December 2014. He is also the ACT Treasurer, as well as the Minister for Economic Development and Minister for Tourism and Major Events.

Andrew believes in the modern Labor values of responsible economic management and progressive social reform. His priorities in the Legislative Assembly and as Chief Minister of the ACT, include promoting Canberra’s economic development and investing in public infrastructure such as hospitals, public transport, schools and sport facilities.

Andrew wants to see the evolution and renewal of Canberra, which has already been named the world’s most liveable city, continue for years to come. As Chief Minister, he is working toward greater integration and connection between Canberra’s suburbs through public transport and upgrades to local shopping precincts to create a culture and city that reflects the pride Canberrans feel in their home.

Professor Genevieve Bell is an accomplished anthropologist and researcher, highly regarded industry expert and frequent commentator on the intersection of culture and technology.

She joined The Australian National University (ANU) in February as a Professor in the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Dr Bell has served as a Vice President of Intel where she became the first woman in the company’s history to be appointed an Intel Senior Fellow. After completing a PhD in cultural anthropology at Stanford University, Dr Bell joined Intel in 1998, leading the company’s first user experience research and development lab. She is recognised as a world leader in the ethnographic approach to developing technology.

Bell has been featured in publications such as Wired, Forbes, The Atlantic, Fast Company, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. She is also a sought-after public speaker and panelist at technology conferences worldwide for the insights she has gained from extensive international field work and research.

Her industry recognition includes being listed among the “100 Most Creative People in Business” by Fast Company in 2010, induction in the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame in 2012, and being honored as the 2013 Woman of Vision for Leadership by the Anita Borg Institute. Bell’s book, “Divining a Digital Future: Mess and Mythology in Ubiquitous Computing,” written in collaboration with Paul Dourish, was published by MIT Press in 2011.

With a 21-year career in product development and commercialisation, David has worked with some of the largest and innovative companies in the world.

In industries such as aquaculture, rail, mining and manufacturing, David has developed skills in engineering and business, having designed and managed projects in mechanical, software and electronics. These international projects have seen David implement sales, marketing, manufacturing, and aftermarket support, for a truly well-rounded set of abilities.

However, his greatest passion has always been agriculture and sustainability. In 2012, David took an idea he first created in the early 2000’s and co-founded David with his wife, Samira. From 2012 to 2015, both David and Samira focused on the completion of this idea and four years later, in January 2016, the hard work paid off, with the release of their new product automed; a self-adjusting livestock medication system that not only delivers the correct dose but also records everything about who administered the dose, how and what type of medication.

2016 was a great year for David and automed as the agri-tech and livestock industry globally recognised automed as game changing technology. Because of this recognition, David was able to establish automed’s USA division, automed USA. This saw a dramatic increase in customers, distribution and strategic partners. David and Samira also were recognised on the international stage winning seven industry awards both within Australia and internationally.

Having achieved such a great year in 2016, David to focus on automed and its future direction. Now more than ever, David is developing partnerships locally and internationally that will see automed and other future product ideas released onto the international stage.
