Vivek Kundra is one of the most connected and powerful thought leaders in the world today, providing his experience to assist globally with the transformation of modern governments.Vivek Kundra

Vivek was appointed as the first United States Chief Information Officer by President Obama. This accomplished visionary is credited with saving billions in taxpayer dollars, adopting game-changing technologies, strengthening the cybersecurity posture of the nation and launching an open government movement which has been replicated around the world.

His inaugural visit to Queensland provides a rare opportunity for business leaders to hear Vivek’s thought-provoking and often contentious views on how the private sector and governments can work differently to transform the economy, public sector service delivery and business through digital leadership.

At this exclusive event, Vivek will address:

  • the implications between sectors of digital disruption
  • enabling ‘real’ change and innovation
  • citizen centric service delivery
  • the need for better data and greater measurement
  • the build versus buy debate

About the Speaker

Prior to joining the Obama administration, Vivek served as the Chief Technology Officer for the District of Columbia and as the Assistant Secretary of Commerce and Technology for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He was a fellow at Harvard University at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society and the Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy. He has served in leadership roles in the private sector and is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

While at the White House, Vivek was tasked with managing the digital strategy for Hurricane Katrina, the Gulf Oil disaster and the Haitian earthquake and recovery. In his current role as Executive Vice President, Public Sector at Salesforce, Vivek is a trusted advisor to multiple governments, working with them on driving their digital transformation projects. Most recently, Vivek worked closely with The Hon Malcolm Turnbull MP to launch Australia’s Digital Transformation Office in March 2015.

We look forward to welcoming you for what will be an entertaining and informative event!
