- The Hon. Bruce Lander Q.C., South Australian Independent Commissioner Against Corruption
As part of the Australian Information Industry Association’s (AIIA) ongoing work with the South Australian Government across many aspects of better procurement practices and policy, AIIA is pleased to present this collaborative forum with Hon Bruce Lander QC, South Australia’s first Independent Commissioner Against Corruption from the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption (ICAC).
In times when public sector budgets are tighter than ever, the value of ICT in helping drive improved productivity with the public sector in a resource constrained environment is greater than ever.
Consequently, the opportunity to develop improved agency outcomes from open and managed engagement between government and industry has become equally more important.
Dynamic engagement between government and industry must however be conducted within an appropriate procurement framework.
The establishment of the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption brings another element to the engagement process for the IT industry in dealing with government, and it is important that both the ICT industry and government understands clearly the role of ICAC and what it means for our respective staff.
What new considerations are there for both government and industry when “engaging early” ahead of formal procurement needs and processes?
Should behaviour change during formal procurement processes?
How does government and industry develop increased confidence on how to partner to drive the productivity outcomes our public sector is seeking?
Please join us in a forum for ICT leaders and professionals in both industry and government designed to not only shed light on these issues but to also develop new relationships.
