Minister for Industry and Skills
The Hon. David Pisoni MP was elected as the Member for Unley in 2006 and has lived in Unley with his wife and children for more than 20 years, after growing up in Salisbury, South Australia.
David undertook a furnishing trades apprenticeship and later his cabinet-making abilities led him to a role as managing director of his own manufacturing/retail company between 1984 and 2006. David was a Director of the National Furniture Association, President of the Unley Chamber of Commerce and an active member of the Unley Main Street Association.
Prior to being sworn in as Minister for Industry and Skills in March 2018, David served as the Shadow Minister for Transport and Infrastructure. He is also part of the Parliamentary Economic and Finance Committee.
David is passionate about ensuring South Australians have the skills necessary for future jobs, and that industry is supported to enable those employment opportunities. As Minister for Industry and Skills, David is focused on delivering the Liberal Party’s commitment to create 20,000 new apprenticeships and traineeships and developing a comprehensive Defence Workforce Plan.
David Pisoni is an enthusiastic MP who is passionate about representing and working for his local community and the state.
Marie Johnson
Managing Director and Chief Digital Officer of the Centre for Digital Business
Marie Johnson is the Managing Director and Chief Digital Officer of the Centre for Digital Business, a digital services and AI company. She explores radical innovation and questions thinking which doesn’t amplify human potential or prepare us for the future. Marie is an in-demand speaker and commentator on artificial intelligence, innovation and design, and will be speaking at the O’Reilly Artificial Intelligence Conference in London in October.
Marie conceived and led the global co-design and co-creation effort with people with disability to deliver “Nadia” the first human realistic AI digital human for service delivery, which has attracted worldwide interest.
An internationally experienced entrepreneur, Marie’s track record encompasses the public and private sector delivering significant technology, innovation and digital services transformation programs encompassing revenue, business, social services, payments, identity, immigration visa operations and disability services. The diversity of roles covers service delivery operations, global technology strategy, Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Architect, Technology Authority, board director and advisor, and mentor to start-ups.
Previously at Microsoft, Marie led Microsoft’s Worldwide Public Services and eGovernment business based in Seattle, USA.
The egovernment and digital initiatives Marie has led have been recognised globally. These include the United Nations Public Service Award in the category “Application of ICT in government: egovernment” for the Business Entry Point (www.business.gov.au) which she led for 5 years. In 2006-2007, Marie was named “Innovative CIO of the Year – Australia”. In 2013, Marie was named one of Australia’s “100 Women of Influence”.
Marie is a Board Director of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA); advisory member of the NSW Digital Government Advisory Panel; and a member of NZTech.
Marie is an active supporter of various causes such as cardiac and cancer research and the promotion of women in technology as a donor, fundraiser and active participant. This included running the 2012 London Marathon, and together with a team of 10 raised more than $100,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation.
