Details

The recent fallout from Target’s privacy breach (40 million credit cards hacked & a 46% drop in profit as reported in the Sydney Morning Herald) demonstrates how privacy compliance is a critical business issue. This week was Privacy Awareness Week and the Australian Privacy Commissioner reinforced the importance that companies comply with the new privacy laws or face fines of up to $1.7 Million.

The AIIA is helping members with compliance by securing free access to a Privacy Compliance Webinar by one of Australia’s leading technology lawyers, Nick Abrahams, a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright. The free webinar is schedule for 17 June 12pm-1pm AEST and is hosted by online legal service, www.LawPath.com.au.

The seminar will cover:

  • Recent developments in privacy law and practice
  • Pragmatic advice on the top 7 things organisations must do to comply with the new privacy laws which commenced on 12 March 2014
  • Privacy, cloud and data export
