NSW Department of Customer Service

Jihad Dib is the NSW Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government, Minister for Emergency Services, Minister for Youth Justice, and the Member for Bankstown. He is a former member of the Australia Day Council of NSW, the NSW Police Commissioner’s Advisory Panel, and the SBS Community Advisory Committee, and served as a Commissioner on the NSW Community Relations Commission.

Throughout his career, Jihad has campaigned tirelessly for inclusion and the celebration of diversity in our society. Prior to being elected to NSW Parliament in 2015, Jihad was Principal of Punchbowl Boys’ High School. Over almost a decade, he transformed the school by setting high expectations and developing strong relationships with the community, local organisations, and government agencies.

As a Minister in the NSW Labor Government, Jihad is driving better service provision across his portfolios to deliver for every resident of NSW. His focus is on enhancing preparedness, inclusion, and innovation in frontline customer and emergency services; disaster response and recovery; digital transformation initiatives; and early intervention and diversion programs to enhance community safety and help young people break the cycle of reoffending. He believes in the principle of continuous improvement and the potential of each person to be a positive role model.
