The AIIA attended the Federal Budget Stakeholder Lock-up event at the Hyatt in Canberra on 8 May

The AIIA were in attendance at the stakeholder event held at the Hyatt in Canberra prior to the release of the 2018-19 Budget. The event was held by Treasury, and brought together representatives from across the APS, Industry member organisations and the media.

The AIIA spent the afternoon and evening in the lock-up looking through the budget and the effects it will have on the ICT sector. The DTA are holding an ICT Procurement Workshop on Thursday May 17 to improve fairness within procurement – are you interested in attending?

The DTA are currently engaged in a ‘sprint’ program of work on improving fairness within ICT procurement. The DTA has stood up a team of 7 Agencies across the APS working full time on ensuring the government’s ICT procurement practices are fair, regardless of a businesses’ size.

The DTA have requested AIIA member engagement for a design workshop Thursday May 17 from 2:30 – 4:30pm in Canberra to test and iterate on their first prototype.

The goal of the workshop is to make sure what is delivered considers the industry’s needs first and achieve a good set of guidance on next steps and how the Agency can progress this important issue.

The AIIA congratulate Cogito Group’s successful delivery of an Australian cyber security product to the New Zealand Government

AIIA member, Cogito Group has successfully implemented a deployment of its ‘Jellyfish’ cyber security product offering, which will be used to protect the New Zealand Government’s ePassport program.

As the field of cyber security continues to grow globally, it is important that Australian innovation and wins in this field are highlighted, particularly as Australian products and services gain a foothold in overseas markets.
