With the recent release of the South Australian Government’s Hi-Tech Sector Plan 2030, this Online Briefing Session (OBS) will inform the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIIA) members and guests of the State’s strategy & plan.
  
This is a key opportunity for the industry to understand better how is can assist with growing SA’s Hi-tech sector.
  
Following the Minister’s presentation there will be a keynote presentation given by the CEO of the Department of Innovation and Skills concluding with a panel discussion involving Minister Pisoni, Adam Reid, CEO of SA Department of Innovation & Skills and Rita Excell, Executive General Manager of the Australian Driverless Car Initiative.

The Hon David Pisoni MP

Minister for Innovation & Skills, SA

David Pisoni was elected to the South Australian Parliament as the Member for Unley in 2006.Appointed as a Minister in the Marshall Government in March 2018 he currently has responsibilities for the Innovation and Skills portfolio.Born and educated in South Australia, he attended Salisbury High School and completed a Furnishing trades apprenticeship at TAFE SA. David became the Managing Director of his own manufacturing and retail company in Adelaide and Sydney and over 22 years was responsible for training 20 apprentices. For more than 30 years, David has played an active role in his local community of Unley and has been a passionate advocate for many organisations, charities and businesses.

Adam Reid

Chief Executive, Department for Innovation and Skills, Government of South Australia

Adam was appointed as Chief Executive to the Department for Innovation and Skills in April 2020. Adam’s initial priority has been to support South Australia’s science, innovation, small business, skills and creative industries communities through the challenges of COVID-19, with a strong focus on economic recovery. Adam works in partnership with industry and research organisations to increase productivity and employment through research and innovation, entrepreneurship, supporting globally competitive businesses, advanced technology capabilities and attracting, developing and retaining the skills required by industry.Adam has held executive positions within the South Australian Government since 2009. Prior to recently becoming the acting Chief Executive, he was the Executive Director of the Innovation and Science division within DIS where he was responsible for developing and supporting the state’s innovation system to drive economic growth.Previously Adam held executive positions within the Department of State Development and Department of Trade and Economic Development, where he led industry development policy and strategy implementation, small business and investment management.
