The AIIA is pleased to announce that it is partnering with Big Mouth Events to introduce an International Women’s Day event into the AIIA calendar.

This year’s IWD theme – #PressforProgress – is representative of all the work that we are doing as an industry to encourage and support diversity across the ICT sector. Our inaugural IWD event will explore how we, as an industry, can champion this initiative together.

Elizabeth Vega, CEO of Informed Solutions and Deputy Chair of the AIIA National Board, will share experiences and insights gained from an extensive career in the ICT industry that spans over 30 years. A strong supporter and advocate for diversity in the workforce, Elizabeth will not only reflect on how the ICT industry in Australia and the UK has changed in recent years, but will also consider how it must adopt to future challenges.

Sam Micich, Group Operations & Marketing Manager, Clicks IT Recruitment will share insights into Click’s 2018 Gender Diversity Report. A specialist recruiter in the IT sector for 30 years, Clicks has presented unique insights into gender diversity trends over the years. The annual Clicks Gender Diversity Report has looked at data from 30,000 Australian job applicants since 2012 and is grouped into high-level technology skillsets.

Sam Micich

Group Operations & Marketing Manager, Clicks IT Recruitment

Sam is a business enabler with twenty years’ experience in leadership roles in the staffing industry, the last twelve in the IT recruitment and consulting sectors.
After being a top biller with a global staffing leader, Sam successfully took on a series of challenges to both ‘start up’ and ‘fix up’ recruiting teams for large executive and management recruitment firms.

Taking the knowledge she’d gained about building engaged and high-performing teams, Sam moved to the tech sector in 2006, as National Operations Manager for the ASX 200 listed SMS Management & Technology’s recruitment business. Here she drove major transformation programmes in learning and development, quality management, digital marketing, and introduced two new service lines.

In 2010 Sam spent 18 months as hire number one in a tech startup with ex SMSers. Whilst the startup didn’t ultimately survive, Sam fondly describes this experience as the ‘most hands-on MBA I could have dreamt of’.

Sam has been with her current employer since 2012. The Beddison Group is a $350m Australian organisation that comprises Clicks IT Recruitment, the IT professional services firm INDEX Consultants, and staffing generalist HOBAN Recruitment. Beddison has a 4,000 strong workforce and is a recent subsidiary of $1.5bn Tokyo-based OUTSOURCING Inc.

In her role of Group Operations & Marketing Manager, Sam drives continuous innovation across the Group’s growing operations and brands. She heads a team responsible for business process improvement, business systems, learning and development, brand and marketing, research and reporting, bids and tenders, as well as Clicks’ award-winning Contractor Care function.

A self-described optimist who is never satisfied, Sam is a proud stepmum to three amazing humans. She dreams of owning a Great Dane named Mr Pants, if only she could talk her husband into it.
