During that time, David was instrumental in lifting the lid on systemic failures in child protection.\nDavid was born and educated in South Australia. He attended Salisbury High School and completed a Furnishing trades apprenticeship at TAFE.\nDavid became the Managing Director of his own manufacturing and retail company in Adelaide and Sydney and over 22 years was responsible for training 20 apprentices.\nDavid is passionate about ensuring South Australians have the skills necessary for future jobs and that industry is supported to enable those employment opportunities. Stephen brings over 25 years of experience to the Parliament, with a wide-ranging professional background including business, local government and professional sport.\nStephen was appointed Minister for Trade and Investment in July 2020. In this role, Stephen is focused on delivering the Marshall Liberal Government’s strong plan to recover the South Australian economy from the effects of the COVID-19\n\n\n\n\n\n\nglobal pandemic. In Parliament, Stephen has served as the Presiding Member of the Environment, Resources and Development Committee and has also served on several other committees, including the Economics and Finance Committee.\nDirectly prior to entering politics, Stephen worked with businesses in South Australia’s key growth sectors of space, defence and hi-tech, through the company he co-founded, Expeed Technology. Stephen represented his local community as the Mayor of Holdfast Bay Council from 2014 to 2018 and was a professional Australian rules footballer with Collingwood Football Club from 1995 to 2000. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science (physics) and a Bachelor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering with 1st Class Honours from the University of Adelaide.\nStephen is married to Tammy and together they have four children. She has published in academic peer reviewed journals and has been a successful applicant in competitive grant programs as both an academic researcher and as an industry partner.\nShe is an inventor on granted patents and has been involved in raising millions of dollars for multiple start-up companies. She has negotiated multi-million-dollar licensing transactions and collaboration agreements in the development of early stage technologies.\nJudy has extensive experience in strategy development and implementation and been a non-executive director of 7 start-up companies and is currently a member of several Advisory Boards.
