IoT is driving us towards Smarter Cities.\nIoT is not a single technology. In fact, there are many technology drivers associated with IoT which are central to its success and are at a more advanced stage of maturity.\nTechnologies including Machine to Machine communications, Mobile, Big Data, Hybrid Cloud, Location based services etc, are tightly coupled to the value that IoT will bring to society.\nThis exciting new AIIA event will feature industry leading speakers who are currently leveraging the ‘connected world’ to deliver increased services and efficiency. Each of our speakers will provide insights into what they are doing with IoT and what they predict for the next phase of IoT innovation as it relates to transport, logistics and infrastructure.\nMark Wild, CEO of Public Transport Victoria (PTV) will speak about his organisation’s commitment to the public release of its data as part of the Open Data movement. Last year, PTV released its data to the public for the first time and has continued to add to this, including a General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) dataset in March this year.\nKeith Weegberg, Acting Director Road Operations for VicRoads will discuss connected cities of the future from a transport perspective and will explore how technology can drive this future state. He will also look at where we are now and provide insight into what he feels connected cities might look like in the future and further, what this may mean to a driver and occupant.\nEd Richard, Chief Technology Officer for Hedgehog Logistics will explore how innovative cloud based technologies can be used today to ensure end-to-end transparency of information across the entire freight management process. In doing so, he will demonstrate how a range of different smart devices can each be used to connect and communicate between consumers, senders and transport logistics providers in real time – at any time – across the freight management cycle.\nDavid Hanus, General Manager, Technology Partnerships and Innovation for Transurban will explore the theme of connecting customers and cities.\nOur speakers will then be joined by Paul Bunker, Manager of Business Systems and IT at Melbourne Airport and Rohan Fernando, Head of Enterprise Channels for HERE for an interactive panel session.\nPresented by\nAIIA, Vic Government\nSponsored by\nFour PL\n[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]\n
